Cyberpunk 2077 was originally conceived as a major game project. It is designed for high-end hardware, so the possibility of porting it to Nintendo Switch was discussed for a long time, but the project never came to fruition.
The Nintendo Switch is technically not designed for such a game. Cyberpunk 2077 requires significant CPU and GPU resources, as well as a large amount of RAM. Therefore, porting the game to the Nintendo Switch would have required not just adapting the game, but essentially writing a new one. The developers at CD Projekt did not release an official version for this console; it was impractical, the console was already outdated at the time, and the time required to develop an adapted version was substantial.
Cyberpunk 2077 on Nintendo Switch 2
With the release of Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025, more modern hardware made it possible to run a full version of the game titled Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. This version includes not only the base game but also the Phantom Liberty expansion.
Possible workarounds on the older Switch
Despite the lack of an official version, users sometimes attempt to run the game via streaming from a computer. This approach does not constitute a full-fledged launch of the game on the console itself. The image is simply transmitted from another device, with the Switch acting as a screen and controller.
This method is inconvenient and has not gained widespread popularity.
