List of 3D glasses compatible with LG TVs

In 2010, TV manufacturers began to actively introduce 3D technologies. By 2012-2013, about 80% of all released TVs supported 3D, as it was a popular feature at the time. However, over the years, it became evident that 3D on TVs was more of a gimmick than a necessity. The production costs of 3D TVs were high, and consumers increasingly opted for more affordable models without this technology.

Meanwhile, manufacturers transitioned to producing next-generation UHD displays, which had not been designed with 3D in mind. As a result, by 2017, all manufacturers, including LG, had discontinued 3D support in TVs. However, owners of older LG models that support 3D can still enjoy 3D movies by using compatible glasses.

Compatibility of 3D Glasses with LG TVs

Plasma TVs utilized active 3D technology, requiring active 3D glasses. In contrast, LG’s LCD and LED TVs were equipped with passive 3D technology. The first LCD models with 3D support featured a special polarizing layer and required unique glasses. Starting in 2012, LG began producing universal passive glasses that were compatible with all TVs released during that period.

• The AG-F310 is the most popular model of passive 3D glasses, designed to fit all LG LED TVs since 2012.
• Earlier versions, such as the AG-F200, AG-F215, and AG-F260, were introduced in 2012. Although they varied in design, they were eventually replaced by the AG-F300 series, which offered improved polarization to reduce color distortion.
• The AG-F400 and AG-F420, released in 2015, are similar to the AG-F300 series, but the AG-F420 features a Clip-On design that allows users to wear the glasses over corrective eyewear. These glasses are compatible with TVs from 2013-2014.
• The AG-F310DP and AG-F400DP gaming glasses allow two players to see their individual images. These glasses were specifically designed for games developed for LG’s 3D TVs with passive technology.
• The AG-F220 glasses are specialized and compatible only with specific models: LW6500, LW5700, and LW5600.
• For 2012 plasma TVs, the AG-S350 and AG-S360 are designed exclusively for use with active technology. Additionally, for the first 3D TVs released in 2009, the FPG-200N and FPG-200F models were created for screens with resolutions below HD.
