You can connect your Samsung TV to the Internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable. The TV usually obtains all network settings automatically from the router. If you need to connect to a different network or use a specific IP address or DNS server, you can change these settings manually. Usually, you don’t need to change the network settings—they are configured automatically—but if you want to use a VPN server, you’ll need to manually enter the network settings.
The exact names of the menu items may vary slightly depending on your Samsung TV model and Tizen version.
Open the network settings. On most Samsung TVs, go to:
“Settings” → “All Settings” → “Connection” → ‘Network’ → “Network Settings”
On some older models, the path is as follows:
“Settings” → ‘Network’ → “Open Network Settings”
Here, you can choose how to connect your TV to the network. Select the type of network connection. Select “Wireless” to connect your TV to Wi-Fi. Select your network from the list and enter the Wi-Fi password.
Select “Wired” if you want to connect the TV to the router using an Ethernet cable. In this case, connect the cable to the LAN port on the TV and the router. In both cases, the TV usually configures the connection automatically using the DHCP protocol.
Change the IP and DNS settings
If you need to use a fixed IP address or a specific DNS server, open the network status and IP settings:
Settings → All Settings → Connection → Network → Network Status → IP Settings
The available settings include:

You should not enter random IP, gateway, or subnet values. They must match the configuration of your router or network.
How to reset the network configuration
If you want to remove the current network settings and configure the connection again, use Reset Network.
The option is usually located at:
Settings → All Settings → Connection → Network → Reset Network
After the reset, the saved network configuration is removed. If you use Wi-Fi, you will need to select your wireless network and enter the password again.
For most users, there is no need to configure the network manually.
