LG NANO81 vs NANO85, NANO90 vs NANO97 vs NANO99 Technical Comparison
LG NANO series TVs, these are mid-range, closer to the premium series, the screens in this series of TVs are slightly improved, although they are made with IPS technology. LG has premium TVs, these are OLED. A comparison of NANO series TV models is done with the TV models available in North America. Note that LG in 2020 paid more attention to the technical parameters of TVs, the release of new TV models is scheduled for May 2020. Screens on LG NANO2020 TVs
The NANO81, NANO85, NANO90 TVs feature UHD screens with 8-bit color depth (8bit + FRC). The use of dithering technology allows to display about one billion color shades. NANO97, NANO99 TV models have 8K screen resolution and 10-bit color depth. The matrix has a WRGB structure, white pixels are added, it increases the brightness of the screen. The NANO81 and NANO85 screens are side-illuminated, for other TV models including 8K, the backlight is Direct type. The actual screen frequency is 120 Hz, except for the NANO81 in this model, the screen only supports 60 Hz.
Processors, SMART NANO 2020
4 normal processors are in NANO81, a7 processor in NANO85, NANO90 and a9 processor in NANO97, NANO99. The Smart parameters are the same because the Smart runs on the software level. The operating system is the same, so the capabilities are similar. Auto Genre Selection (automatic selection of TV offerings) differs slightly depending on the TV model, the higher the TV class, the more content is supported.
Gaming capabilities, sound, connectivity ports in NANO 2020 TV series
Sound from standard 2.0 to standard 4.2 can be viewed in more detail in the table. There is support for WiSa but you must buy an access key (license). Gaming capabilities, given the availability of HDMI ports of standard 2.1 in TV models starting with NANO85, LG NANO 8 series TVs support new gaming capabilities, such as synchronizing the TV frequency with a video card, low input delay., But only on 4K TVs. On 8K TVs, this support is not available, most likely the reason is a software defect, which is unlikely. More like a special limitation, this may be due to insufficient processor power. The processor cannot simultaneously scale the video and process synchronization signals.
If we consider the entire line of NANO TVs in 2020, then these are TVs from the budget series to super, with standard screens made using IPS technology.
