Technology

Display Technology: The TVs use NanoCell technology with EDGE backlighting. While local dimming is advertised, its actual implementation is minimal due to the limitations of EDGE lighting. The display features an 8-bit matrix with Frame Rate Control (FRC), which increases the number of perceived shades by leveraging the inertia of human vision.

Smart TV Functionality: The NANO85 series runs on the webOS platform, supporting LG’s smart home system. It is compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit, providing easy control and integration with other smart devices.

Audio System: The TVs come with a 2.0-channel audio system with a total output power of 20 watts. Supported formats include Dolby Digital (AC4, AC3, EAC3) and codecs such as HE-AAC, AAC, MP2, MP3, PCM, WMA, and aptX. However, DTS codecs are not supported.

Gaming Features: The NANO85 series includes features designed to enhance gaming experiences. FreeSync technology ensures adaptive refresh rates for smooth gameplay, although a firmware update may be required. Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) minimizes input lag, while Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) reduces screen tearing and stuttering, operating within a range of 48Hz to 120Hz.
