After unveiling their latest models at various exhibitions, Samsung officially launched their QLED TVs in North America. The company was determined to promote this new line of televisions with a long-term vision, establishing a distinct identity for the series by naming it the “Q Series.”
In early March, Samsung introduced the Q7 and Q8 models, which were designed to offer superior display quality compared to the previous SUHD series. Notably, these models came with the designation “Class Q7F QLED 4K TV” and “QN55Q8CAMFXZA” (Q8 model), showcasing their advanced features.
What makes Samsung’s QLED TVs stand out?
The QLED series is a marked improvement over Samsung’s previous SUHD models, offering improved picture quality. The distinguishing feature of the new TVs is the use of next-generation LED displays. While the technology itself has remained unchanged, the drastic change has been in the materials used to make the pixels. In these TVs, the pixels are filled with new materials that have been developed by the chemical industry, they have an increased selectivity of light transmission, as well as very low absorption capacity in the transmitted spectrum, so the image quality in these TVs is much higher than in conventional TVs.
Specifications and features
In terms of technical specifications, these QLED TVs support frame rates of up to 120fps, although it’s worth noting that according to current standards, most content is usually displayed at 60fps or less. Don’t pay attention to fake parameters like MR 240, real TVs can’t display at that frequency.
