• Confirm the installation with “OK.”
• Go back to your home screen and open YouTube TV.

And even though you’ll still encounter ads during live TV, if you want to try this service, just click Try it free. If you already have YouTube TV, just choose Sign in and follow the directions to sign in to your account.

Are there any alternatives on how to watch YouTube on Roku

Sometimes it happens that you’re not convenient to use the TV to search for videos, or you have other goals and you need to connect your smartphone or tablet to the Roku. Generally, there are two ways to do this – through the TV code or through the Cast option. Choose which is more convenient for you. So first we’ll show you how to complete the procedure using a code:

• Check if your smartphone or tablet is connected to the same network as your Roku device.
• Open YouTube on Roku. Go to the “Settings” menu.
• Choose Link with TV code.
• Log in to your account. A request to visit youtube.com/activate will appear on your smartphone.
• Finish signing in by clicking on the “Allow Access” button.
• Click on “Pair Device” to connect your smartphone or tablet.
• Go to the youtube.com/pair website or simply scan the QR code that appears on the screen.

However, as for me, the fastest and easiest way is the Cast option on smartphones or tablets. In one click, you simply broadcast the image and sound to the TV.

• Go to YouTube.
• Select and click on a video.

• Click “Cast”.

• Use the same button to stop streaming.

This method can definitely be suitable for those who don’t like to use the remote control of the TV and it’s faster to find the video via smartphone or tablet.

How to unsubscribe from YouTube Premium via Roku

It’s all very well, but you realized YouTube Premium isn’t your cup of tea and you decided to unsubscribe, delete your YouTube account and change the service to another. You can do this in various ways – after all, you can access YouTube from any device. But can you unsubscribe from the service on your Roku device? See how easy it is:

• Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
• Use the arrow button to navigate and highlight the YouTube channel.
• Press the (*) button on your remote.
• Select the Manage subscription.
• To unsubscribe, select Cancel subscription.
• Again, select Cancel subscription to confirm it.
