The LG SIGNATURE line appeared as the brand name for LG’s ultra-premium products in 2016, when the company first presented it at CES. At that time, it showcased premium OLED televisions with HDR support, an advanced TwinWash washing machine, a refrigerator with Door-in-Door technology, and a hybrid air purifier. The company’s marketing department was looking for a way to increase sales and prevent LG products from getting lost among the multitude of other brands. Therefore, it was decided to separate some of the company’s products that had certain features into a separate line. By 2017, this line had officially begun to enter global markets as a separate brand.
LG SIGNATURE 2017–2022
After a strong start in 2017, LG’s management lost interest in this product line. This was partly due to low consumer interest in these products and the unwillingness of customers to pay more when similar products could be purchased at a lower price. During this period, the world saw the following products under this brand.

In 2019, LG SIGNATURE OLED TV Z9 was released, an 88-inch 8K OLED television.
In 2020, LG SIGNATURE OLED TV R appeared, the world’s first rollable Signature OLED television, transforming into three modes: Full View, Line View, and Zero View.
From 2021 to 2022, the line remained mostly the same. If the company’s products under the LG SIGNATURE brand were presented on the website, they were almost unnoticeable.
LG SIGNATURE 2023–2025
In 2023, the company decided to give this line a second chance. A large number of complaints about the quality and durability of premium products had previously hindered the success of the line. In 2023, the second generation of LG SIGNATURE was introduced. In fact, most of the new products remained exhibition models.

None of these products ever went on sale. This represents a major failure by the company’s management, advertising products that the technical departments could not deliver. Some products have such a small consumer niche or completely unnecessary features. For example, who needs a washing machine with a huge display? You just put your clothes in to wash them; you do not admire the panel. Or a microwave oven with a screen on the door—the idea is good, but difficult to implement, as LCD displays are very sensitive to microwaves and cannot function properly inside a microwave.
