Design Samsung Q80T
The design of the TV is classic, as in most models. The TV can be mounted on a stand or mounted on a wall. For wall mounting, you can use the VESA standard mount or the proprietary Mini Wall Mount Compatibility mount, in this case the TV can be placed close to the wall.
Screen Samsung Q80T
The screens on the Q80T TVs are updated, now the screens with a new backlight, a dual LED are installed. The use of a new type of backlight improves the quality of the transmission of color shades. But at the same time, the screen has an 8-bit color depth and a Direct-type backlight. To increase the number of shades, dithering technology is used, all these technical tricks, according to the manufacturer, increase the number of color shades to 1 billion. Of course, we cannot verify this, since a person is not able to see the whole spectrum of color shades. Screens support a maximum frame rate of 120 per second, except for a model with a screen of 49 inches, where the screen only supports 60 frames per second.
Ports in Samsung Q80T
All are standard 4 HDMI ports, but some ports have already partially used the new 2.1 format. It supports game consoles with better ALLM synchronization and the ability to receive 4K video at 120 frames per second. But only the fourth HDMI port can do this. The third HDMI port supports the new digital audio reverse eARC channel. The rest is unchanged.
Sound in Samsung Q80T
Supported Object Tracking Sound, tracking of moving objects (support for 5 channel sound and adaptation to the TV). Supported by Q-Symphony (joint work of the soundbar from Samsung and TV speakers). There is also support for Active Voice Amplifier, noise recognition and automatic increase in the level of voice actors.
Other features of the Q80T
It can also be noted that in the 2020 TVs they added the necessary modules to the software and now, right out of the box, the use of Google and Alexa voice assistants is available. SmartThings also has a program for managing a smart home, but has not yet received much distribution, since using a TV you can only control devices that support SmartThings, and these are Samsung products.
The Q80T series is not bad at all and can be considered for purchase.
