As of November 2023, LG TV owners can access the ESPN+ app directly through the LG Content Store, making it easy to stream sports without additional devices. The app development was completed in 2023 and rolled out in two phases. The first phase included models released from 2020 onward, followed by support for 2018–2019 models in December. LG TVs manufactured before 2018 are not supported, as expanding the app to older systems was deemed economically unviable.

Which LG Models Support ESPN+

Compatibility depends on both the release year and the version of the webOS operating system. In 2025, all LG TVs running webOS 25 are compatible with ESPN+. Models from 2024 with webOS 24 are also fully supported. These include OLED series such as A4, B4, C4, G4, Z4, and R4, QNED models like QNED80T and QNED90T, NanoCell NANO80T, and UHD series UT9, UT8, and UT7. The 2023 lineup, running on webOS 23, received ESPN+ support in November. This includes OLED A3 through M3, QNED80R, QNED90R, and UHD series UR9, UR8, and UR7.

Models from 2022 with webOS 22 support ESPN+ as well, including OLED A2, B2, G2, C2, Z2, and R2, along with QNED80Q, QNED90Q, and a wide range of NanoCell TVs from 75 to 99 series. UHD models like UQ70, UQ71, UQ75, UQ8, and UQ9 are also supported in select regions. For 2021 models running webOS 6.0, ESPN+ is available on OLED TVs A1 through R1, QNED series 90 to 99, and Nano and UHD TVs from UP70 to UP9.

The 2020 lineup with webOS 5.0 includes ESPN+ support starting late 2023. This applies to OLED TVs such as BX, CX, GX, and ZX, NanoCell models from 80 to 99, and UHD models from UN70 to UN9. Support was also extended in December to 2019 models running webOS 4.5, including OLED W9, E9, C9, B9, Nano SM81 to SM99, and UHD models UM69 to UM80. The 2018 lineup with webOS 4.0 was added at the same time and includes OLED W8, E8, C8, B8, NanoCell SK8000 to SK9500, and 4K UHD TVs such as UK6300 to UK7700.

What to Do If You Can’t Find the ESPN+ App

If the ESPN+ app does not appear in the LG Content Store, there may be several possible reasons. First, your TV may have been manufactured before 2018, in which case it is not compatible. Another common issue is selecting an unsupported country during initial setup—ESPN+ is only available in certain regions, and the app will not appear if your country setting is not eligible. Lastly, your TV’s software may be outdated. Although most LG TVs update automatically, some require a manual update through the settings menu.

In summary, ESPN+ is available on most modern LG TVs released since 2018, provided the software is current and the region is set correctly. Owners of older TVs can still enjoy ESPN+ by using external devices such as streaming boxes or consoles.
