How to Identify the Country Code in a Samsung TV Model Number
The country or regional code is usually found at the end of the Samsung TV model number. It identifies the market for which the television is intended. For example, consider two 77-inch Samsung OLED TVs from the 2026 lineup:
- QE77S99HATXXU – Samsung S99H OLED TV intended for the UK market. The final letters XU identify the UK and Irish market.
- QN77S95HAFXZA – Samsung S95H OLED TV intended for the US market. The final letters ZA identify the US market.
Both TVs belong to Samsung’s 2026 OLED lineup, but they have different model numbers because they are intended for different markets. Let’s take a closer look at the last four characters, which are particularly important in this example.
FXZA can be divided into three parts:
- F – The first letter indicates the type of digital tuner. In Samsung’s US model numbering system, F denotes an ATSC/QAM tuner configuration. European models use different tuner designations because they rely on DVB broadcasting standards.
- X – The second character usually remains unchanged. In earlier versions of this article, I described it as a design designation, but there is no clear evidence to support that interpretation. It is more likely a reserved character that could be used for future model variations.
- ZA – The last two characters identify the TV’s sales region. In this example, ZA indicates the US market.
Therefore, the last four characters combine information about the TV’s tuner configuration and its intended sales region.

Can I use a Samsung TV intended for another country?
