The model number of your Samsung TV contains a lot of information, including the country it was made for and the type of digital tuner it has. In this article, you will learn what codes Samsung uses to indicate the country and the codes of the digital tuners in the TV. If you want complete information about Samsung TV model numbers, please visit the ‘Decode Samsung TV Model Number‘ page, where you will learn how to decode model numbers of OLED, QLED, and LED TVs.
The country code on your Samsung TV
Samsung uses the model number of your TV to indicate the country or region it was made for and the type of digital tuner it has. This is necessary to ensure that TVs are shipped to countries that meet that region’s or country’s standards. On the other hand, all electronics manufacturers try to minimize warranty costs. Therefore, Samsung’s policy is that only TVs officially designed for a particular country are eligible for warranty repair. Here’s how it works: you live in the UK, for example, and you go to France to buy a TV. You watch it without any problems, but suddenly, it breaks down under warranty. You call a technician or take the TV in for repair and are told: “Sorry, we cannot repair your TV under warranty; it is not made for the UK, and only a paid repair is possible.
It is easy to find out what country your TV is made for. The letter code can be identified in the TXXC – France and TXXU – UK model numbers.
What does FXZA stand for in the model Code of my Samsung TV?
If you live in North America, you may wonder what the letters FXZA stand for. The last four letters in the TV model number stand for the following information.
F – indicates the type of digital tuner built into the TV. There are several digital television standards in the world. In Europe, the DVB standard is used, which, in turn, combines several sub-standards. There are only two standards for digital terrestrial television: cable, satellite DVB T/C/S, and versions of these standards. In addition, in some countries, TVs may come with two tuners. Therefore, TVs with DVB standard tuners have the letters K, L, P, R, R, S, T, U, and W.
In the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the ATSC standard is used, and TVs with tuners of this standard have the letter F.
There are other digital TV standards worldwide, such as DTMB in China, and some countries use more than one standard.
X – Different designs: I am still waiting to come across any TVs with any other letter.
The region code on Samsung TVs
ZA – the last two letters indicate the region and country. In this case, the TVs are for the USA and Mexico. The same TV models are produced for these countries.
Many people are interested in whether a TV bought in the UK will usually work in Germany. The answer is yes, it will. Most models have the same digital tuner. When setting up the TV, you must select the correct country so Smart works correctly.
Why Samsung separates TVs for different countries
As I mentioned earlier, the company considers the cost of warranty service. Say you take your TV from Poland to Germany, and it breaks. When you go to the warranty service center, you will be refused a free repair because the TV was manufactured for a different region.
The country code in the Samsung TV model Code for North America
If we look at the US, Canada, and Mexico, the TVs are the same and are sold in the US and Mexico. The labeling is the same for Mexico and the US (ZA). For Canada, it is different (ZC) – hence the differences.
This is because there is a relatively large flow of goods between the US and Mexico and a special trading relationship. In addition, the warranty conditions are more or less the same. For the manufacturer, it makes little difference whether the TV is bought in Mexico and shipped to the US or vice versa. Therefore, Samsung does not separate the TVs it produces into those shipped to the US and those shipped to Mexico; the same TV models are produced for both the US and Mexico.
Canada’s Warranty terms differ from those in the US, where a technician usually travels to the customer’s home. In Canada, the service center technician does not visit the customer due to the long distances between cities, and the customer must bring the TV to the service center. This is specified in the warranty conditions. The delivery of spare parts is more expensive. TVs in Canada have slightly different model numbers for many reasons. Technically, they are the same and will work the same in all North American countries.

Wi-Fi, languages, and Smart TV by region
Other TV features, such as Wi-Fi settings, are also region-specific. Some countries may not allow specific Wi-Fi channels, so TVs for such countries are delivered with some closed channels.
Smart TV – depending on the country, you may find certain apps in the app store that are popular in certain countries. Of course, Smart is customizable; you need to select the correct country, but be aware that if the TV is made for Europe, you will not find the US or Japan in its settings.
The same applies to using languages for other functions on the TV, such as the user guide, working with the AI speaker, and Bixby. If the TV is made for Europe, you will find European languages in the settings, and if the TV is made for Asia, Asian languages will be available.

What is the full model number of your TV.
UA43TU8000RXHE
A comprehensive list of codes, however I cannot find the code from my TV! It is UE32ES5500WXZF – so it appears you are missing a country, ZF, from your listing.
It has a tuner SI_ATC2 type 32P6AFOE.
The issue I am having is that following a recent retune the TV is no longer picking up any HD channels….hence the reason for starting my ‘investigation’. Any assistance would be appreciated.
It was a model TV for Europe, TVs were sold in the Czech Republic, Germany, France, UK and Italy.(ZF)
