If you think that Dell manufactures Dell monitors, then you are mistaken. Dell does not manufacture Dell monitors, although Dell Inc. owns the Dell brand. However, the company has not been designing or manufacturing monitors for over ten years. All monitors are developed by other companies specializing in this and produce monitors at their own assembly plants. If you look at the sticker on the back of the monitor, it will indicate the manufacturer of the monitor. The thing is that producing a product for the consumer is a very troublesome task, and it is much easier to order a monitor under your brand from a large OEM manufacturer than to develop your own.

Where are Dell monitors manufactured?

Dell monitors are manufactured by OEM and ODM companies. There may be many such companies, and the manufacturer does not always provide information about them. However, you can get some information from Dell’s official Public Supplier List.
Dell now classifies monitor manufacturing as a display/LCD business line in its suppliers list, which includes supplying the actual displays for the final product and manufacturing monitors. In previous years, Dell monitored manufacturing as a separate category on its supplier lists.

For example, China’s Wistron Corporation manufactures Dell monitors at its Zhongshan, Guangdong Province factory. Since it is a large OEM and ODM manufacturer, different brands of monitors are produced at this plant. Monitors assembled in this factory are sold in America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

TPV monitors are also assembled in Brazil at the Manaus plant. The primary market is Brazil and South America.

Another monitor manufacturer is Qisda, specializing in ODM and OEM display production for the commercial and gaming segments.

Dell monitors manufacturing strategy, coordinates model development, and manages logistics, marketing, and after-sales service management, which is crucial in reducing costs. Many companies outsource some company processes; this is most noticeable in call centers and after-sales warranty service. This manufacturing and operating model has allowed Dell to become a leader in the monitor market, with annual sales of approximately 20 million units.

The timing of introducing new monitor models, usually around the end or beginning of the year, is a direct result of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) production dynamics. This planning allows client companies to evaluate the previous year’s results before determining production volumes for the coming period. Once models are selected and quantities determined, ODMs will take several months to procure the required components, culminating in the launch of new models at the end of the year.
