The LG G4 series included several smartphones released in 2015. The main model was the LG G4, while the G4s, G4c and G4 Stylus were more affordable versions designed for different users.
LG used different model numbers for different markets and configurations. The most common model numbers associated with the G4 series include H815, H818, H736, H522Y, H525N and H540F.
Although these phones share the G4 name, their specifications are quite different. The LG G4 was the flagship model, while the G4s/G4 Beat, G4c and G4 Stylus used less powerful hardware and different displays.

LG G4 H815 and H818
The LG G4 was the flagship smartphone in the series. The H815 was sold in markets including the UK, while H818 was another regional version of the G4 and was available with dual-SIM support in some markets.
The H815 has a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. It uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. LG lists a 16 MP rear camera, a removable 3,000 mAh battery and a microSD card slot.
The main LG G4 features include an IPS Quantum display, a 16 MP camera with an f/1.8 lens, laser autofocus and optical image stabilization. The phone originally shipped with Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The H818 is also an LG G4 with the same general hardware platform. LG’s specifications for the H818 list a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage, a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a 16 MP rear camera and a removable 3,000 mAh battery. The H818 version also supported two SIM cards.
LG G4s and G4 Beat H736
The LG G4s, also known as the LG G4 Beat in some markets, was positioned below the flagship G4.
It used a smaller display and less powerful hardware than the G4. The H736 is associated with a 5.2-inch Full HD display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 platform. It was designed as a more affordable alternative while retaining some of the design and camera features of the G4.
The G4s should not be confused with the standard LG G4. Despite sharing the G4 name and similar styling, the internal hardware and display specifications are different.
LG G4c H522Y and H525N
The LG G4c was the compact and more affordable member of the G4 family.
The H525N has a 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels. LG lists a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and support for microSD cards up to 32 GB. The rear camera has an 8 MP resolution and the front camera has 5 MP.
The phone also has a 2,540 mAh removable battery and supports 4G LTE. Its smaller 5-inch display makes the G4c considerably more compact than the 5.5-inch LG G4.
The H522Y is another regional model associated with the LG G4c. When identifying a specific phone, it is better to use the complete model number rather than relying only on the G4c name.
LG G4 Stylus H540F
The LG G4 Stylus was designed around a larger 5.7-inch display and included a stylus for writing and drawing.
The H540F uses a 5.7-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels. LG’s specifications list an octa-core 1.4 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The phone has an 8 MP main camera, a 5 MP front camera and a 3,000 mAh battery.
The stylus is the main feature that distinguishes the G4 Stylus from the other G4 models. LG designed the phone for users who wanted a larger screen and the ability to write notes or interact with the display using a pen.
LG G4 Model Numbers
LG released different versions of its phones for different markets, carriers and network configurations. This is why one phone name can have several model numbers.
The main model numbers covered by this series are:
- H815 — LG G4
- H818 — LG G4
- H736 — LG G4s / G4 Beat
- H522Y — LG G4c regional version
- H525N — LG G4c
- H540F — LG G4 Stylus
The model number is usually printed on the phone label, packaging or software information. It is more useful than the commercial name when looking for firmware, replacement parts, manuals or technical specifications.
LG G4 vs G4s vs G4c vs G4 Stylus
The four phones were designed for different purposes.
The LG G4 was the most advanced model in the group. It had the highest-resolution display, Snapdragon 808 processor, 3 GB RAM and a 16 MP main camera.
The LG G4s/G4 Beat was a less expensive alternative with a smaller Full HD display and less powerful hardware.
The LG G4c was the compact budget model. Its 5-inch HD display, 1 GB RAM and 8 MP camera placed it well below the standard G4.
The LG G4 Stylus was different from the other models because of its large 5.7-inch display and included stylus. Its hardware was closer to the budget models than to the flagship G4.
