The LG NANO99 series is one of the most advanced NanoCell TV lineups from LG, released in 2020. Designed to deliver premium 8K viewing experiences, it competes directly with OLED models while offering unique benefits in terms of design, screen technology, and smart features.

Models and Screen Technology

The NANO99 series is available in two screen sizes: 65 inches (65NANO99UNA, 65NANO99LNA) and 75 inches (75NANO99UNA, 75NANO99LNA). These TVs feature 8K Ultra HD resolution (7680 x 4320), ensuring an incredibly detailed and immersive viewing experience. The IPS LED panels with Nano Color Pro technology offer a wide color gamut and exceptional color accuracy, further enhanced by 10-bit color depth for smooth gradients and lifelike images.

The Full Array Local Dimming Pro system controls the LED backlighting across the screen for better contrast and deeper blacks, making the TVs ideal for both bright and dark room settings. With a 120Hz refresh rate, fast-moving scenes in action movies and sports are displayed smoothly without motion blur.

Design and Usability

The Art Gallery Design of the NANO99 allows for a gapless wall mount, giving the TV a sleek, modern appearance that complements any interior. This design not only enhances the aesthetics but also enables the TV to function as a piece of digital art when displaying paintings or photographs in Gallery Mode. This feature is particularly useful for those looking to integrate technology seamlessly into their living spaces.

Smart Features and AI Capabilities

Powered by WebOS 5.0, the NANO99 series includes a range of smart features that elevate the user experience. LG ThinQ AI offers advanced voice control and integration with other smart devices, while compatibility with Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple AirPlay 2, and Apple HomeKit ensures seamless interaction with various ecosystems. Additional features like AI Picture Pro, Intelligent Voice Recognition, and the Home Dashboard provide customization and convenience, making the TV versatile for different user needs.

Gaming and Audio Performance

While not specifically designed for hardcore gaming, the NANO99 includes ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and complies with HGiG recommendations for better gaming performance. These features ensure minimal input lag and improved HDR gaming visuals, making the TV suitable for casual gamers.

The audio setup in the NANO99 series is impressive, featuring a 4.2-channel system with a total output of 60W, including two 10W subwoofers for deeper bass. Dolby Atmos technology enhances the immersive audio experience, creating a theater-like atmosphere. Additionally, WiSA Ready support enables wireless high-fidelity audio, although a dongle must be purchased separately. It’s worth noting that DTS audio codecs are not supported.

Connectivity and Tuners

The NANO99 TVs come equipped with region-specific tuners. The UNA models, designed for the USA and Canada, support ATSC and Clear QAM, while the LNA models, intended for Europe, support DVB-T/T2/C/S/S2 stand
