Who makes LG TVs

LG is a huge corporation that operates in various fields. One of the areas is the production of household appliances and electronic devices. LG quite successfully produces refrigerators and washing machines. Separately, it can be noted the production of TV sets, LG is the leader in this area. Although LG had some failures, LG failed to conquer the market for cell phones and tablets; having suffered a defeat, LG ultimately curtailed this direction of production. As I have already said, LG is the leader in TV set production, although Chinese manufacturers have recently pressed quite a lot of Korean companies. The Chinese manufacturers are dumping prices, although their televisions are equipped with cheaper components. Because of this, LG is also trying to reduce its production and logistics costs and save on taxes. Therefore, parts are manufactured at large factories, but the final assembling of TV sets is made closer to the consumer, considering tax policy.

Are LG TV made in the US?

I heard that LG. had opened a factory in Clarksville, Tennessee. Yes, LG opened a factory in the United States in 2019. This plant only manufactures washers and dryers. This can be explained by the fact that washing machines are big and very heavy; to reduce logistics, it makes sense to open a factory closer to the consumer. But the main reason was that the US was going to impose taxes on finished washing machines imported into the country. So LG decided to minimize the risks and open production in the US LG does not assemble televisions in the US; for the US and Canada, televisions are made in Mexico.

Where components for LG TV sets are produced.

The main component of the TV is the display. Plants that produce screens are located in Korea and China. LG is a very large screen manufacturer. LG makes screens and sells them to many TV manufacturers. Sony, Panasonic, and other companies buy screens from LG. But in turn, LG can also purchase screens from different manufacturers if necessary, and they are now Chinese companies.

Where is LG TV made, LG factory locations

LG TV made in which country: LG manufactures large assembly TVs in its factories in countries such as Korea, Mexico, Poland, Indonesia, Russia, China, and India. Accessories are made in Korea and China. Components are then shipped to assembly plants where the televisions are assembled.

Plants for the production of LG TV in Korea.

In Korea, there are plants for the production of screens and electronics; these are the leading factories that produce components. TVs are assembled in two factories. There are large factories in Korea that make parts and televisions. But recently, due to rising wages in Korea and declining profitability from electronics production in Korea itself. LG is gradually moving production to other countries. For example, LG moved two TV assembly lines from Korea to Indonesia in 2021. Nevertheless, Korean factories supply televisions to Oceania, Australia, New Zealand, the Americas, and other countries. But every year, there are fewer and fewer of them.

LG TV manufacturing factories in China

LG is investing in new factories in China. For example, in 2019, a new OLED display manufacturing plant in China began its work. The plant’s planned capacity is about 1 million OLED screens per year. Also, in China, ready-made TVs are assembled. LG’s Chinese-made TVs are shipped to Asia, the United States (in small quantities), and Africa.

LG TV factory in Russia

LG factory in Russia is located in Ruza. The factory produces TV sets for Russia, Asia, and the Caucasus region. The plant is designed to make about 1 million televisions a year. Also, part of the TV sets is delivered to Eastern Europe. After sanctions were imposed on Russia, the plant was stopped.

LG TV factory in Poland

There are several LG factories in Poland. One of the factories produces LED displays. But in 2019, LG decided to close the display factory in Poland. The reason is that the production of shows is unprofitable. Rising wages in Poland and competition with Chinese TV manufacturers force LG to move component production to countries with cheaper labor. But the TV factory will continue to operate. The televisions produced in Poland are destined for European countries.

LG TV manufacturing factories in India

LG manufactures televisions in India. LG televisions manufactured in India are mainly supplied to the domestic market. Some televisions are exported to Africa. India is a bit of a unique region, with high import taxes on finished products. Therefore, all companies open factories in India to achieve a more competitive price.

LG TV manufacturing factories in Mexico

LG manufactures a large number of televisions in Mexico. These televisions are for sale in North America, and some televisions are also made in South America. LG has three plants in Mexico, in the cities of Monterrey, Mexicali, and Reinos. Televisions are only made in two factories due to U.S. announcements of additional taxes on appliances made in Mexico. LG has been relatively cautious about its production in Mexico’s future and further development.

LG’s TV factory in Indonesia

Indonesia is home to one of the largest TV manufacturing plants. This plant can produce about 3 million televisions a year. The market for televisions from this factory is Southeast Asia and Australia. LG has recently positioned Indonesia as a significant production site, moving production lines from other countries to Indonesia.

LG factory in South Africa

During the riots in South Africa in 2021, the plant that produced TVs was vandalized and burned down. LG has not commented on the fate of its factory.

LG country of origin

You should know that it does not matter where the LG TV was manufactured. The country of origin does not matter. Quality control of manufactured products is carried out by the company’s standards and is high. Premium TVs, produced in small quantities because consumer demand is not high enough because of the price, can be made in one factory for the whole world. But if you consider popular TV models, you should know that, for example, you can’t buy a TV in the US that isn’t assembled in Mexico. This is because the company has built logistics chains and planned out how many televisions will be produced and to which countries they will be delivered. Accordingly, the necessary components are manufactured and shipped to specific factories.

LG TVs for different countries.

Although the country of origin of the TV does not matter, you should pay attention to which country the TV is made for. There are differences in components, and bare circuit boards, mainly because of digital television broadcasting standards. For example, the US, Canada, and Mexico use the ATSC standard, while Europe and Australia use DVB. So if you live in the US and move to Australia, you should know that a TV bought in the US will not receive TV broadcasts in Australia, but streaming services and video playback via HDMI will work.
