What makes Samsung LED screens

Samsung manufactures displays for TVs, installs the screens it produces in TVs of its own production and sells them to other TV assemblers. The manufacture of screens for television was originally intended to produce displays for other companies. For example, Samsung displays virtually no HD and Full HD displays on its TVs. Such displays are mainly used by contract assemblers for the production of cheap TVs.

Samsung flat LED screens for TV sizes

So at the end of 2019, Samsung is producing screens for flat-panel TVs of the following resolution and size. Displays are made using VA technology.

resolution (pixels)screen diagonal
UHD (3840×2160)40’/ 48’/ 50’/ 55′ / 65′ / 75′ / 85′
FHD (1920×1080)32’/ 40’/ 48′ / 50′ / 55′ / 65′ / 75′
HD (1366×768)23’/ 32′

HD and Full HD resolution screens are mainly supplied to other manufacturers, since there are very few such TVs in the Samsung TV line.

Samsung curved LED screens for TV sizes

Samsung also produces curved displays for TVs using VA technology.

resolution (pixels) screen diagonal curved Samsung
UHD+ (5120×2160)81′ / 104′
UHD (3840×2160)48′ / 50′ / 55′ / 65′ / 77′ / 88′
FHD (1920×1080)48′ / 49′ /55′ / 64′

Curved displays are expensive and, as a result, Samsung mass-produces TVs only with screen sizes of 55 and 65 inches. The remaining displays go either to other customers or for the manufacture of video panels on order. In 2015, Samsung, for example, took individual orders for the manufacture of curved TVs. This suggests that there are not many buyers for such televisions and the line for the production of such displays works as needed.
