Until 2025, TCL used different TV model naming systems in different markets rather than a unified global system. As a result, TVs with identical or very similar specifications could have different model numbers in the U.S., Europe, and Australia.

In North America, TCL model numbers generally followed a format consisting of the screen size, series, model number, and operating system. For example, in 65QM851G, “65” indicates the screen size in inches, “QM” identifies the series, “851” is the model number, and “G” indicates Google TV. Other letters identify different smart TV platforms, such as “R” for Roku TV and “F” for Fire TV.

In the UK and other European markets, TCL used a different naming system, with model numbers and suffixes varying by market. For example, 65RC630K identifies a C-series TV with Roku TV.

TCL TV series by year

Between 2019 and 2026 TCL went from Roku-based QLED sets to Google TV mini LED, and from numbered series (3 to 8) to the QM, C and X letter families.
